  • Recent research has discovered that depression onset is occurring earlier in individuals born in the most recent decades
  • Depression often goes hand in hand with anxiety and substance abuse
  • 2/3 of people suffering from depression do not seek help

 

FACTS...About Bipolar

  • Up to 90% of bipolar disorders start before the age of 20
  • Studies suggest that half of the people living with bipolar have attempted suicide
  • 1 in every 100 people have bipolar disorder
  • Almost 1/2 of everyone with bipolar disorder struggles with drugs and alcohol
  • Majority of people who complete suicide from bipolar disorder are between the ages of 18 - 25

  • Most common mental illness in the United States - 40 million people suffer from it
  • Takes on several forms; phobias, social anxiety, OCD and posttraumatic stress

  • Linked to heart problems
