There are many activities that support survivors throughout the year. There are walks, rides, runs, awareness events, conferences and healing workshops among others. Any activity that brings survivors together and has a healing focus is a survivor support activity. If you are a part of the GSPIN Broadcast Network you will receive updates about events, dates and how to participate. There a certain events that happen regularly.
- CAMP SOS - A spring time weekend family Camp for families that have lost a loved one to suicide. Camp SOS is hosted by SPAN-GA. CAMP SOS 2017 will be held on May 5,6 and 7. Click for more information.
- Holiday Remembrance - held at The Link's NRC in Atlanta/Sandy Springs - usually in the first week of December to support that challenging holiday time of the year. (Check GSPIN Calendar for exact date)
- Suicide Prevention Day at the Capitol - hosted by SPAN-GA held at the state Capitol during session to share the community voice. Check back to GSPIN for updates on Capitol Day.
- International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day - This is a day of healing for Survivors of Suicide Loss around the world. International Survivors of Suicide Day is held the Saturday, before Thanksgiving in any given year. Simultaneous gatherings for survivors of suicide loss will take place throughout the U.S. and around the world. This unique network of healing conferences helps survivors connect with others who have survived the tragedy of suicide loss, and express and understand the powerful emotions they experience. In Georgia, there are a number of locations which will be posted on the calendar as the information is release, and also will be broadcast in the Network News. So, make sure you join the network!
